Production Packer

Location: Buchanan, MI

Position Type: Full-Time

Pay/Salary: $17.00 per hour

Schedule: 2nd Shift, M-F from 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM. If overtime is needed, it is mandatory M-F 3:30PM - 1:00AM and Sat 11:00PM - 4:00AM.  

Responsible for stacking and piling goods into their correct containers and preparing them for shipment using various equipment. The candidate will clean and prepare containers before placing goods in them.

Responsibilities/Job Duties: 

• Stack and pile finished goods into containers
• Prepare goods for shipment
• Pack them following a specific set of instructions
• Check to ensure containers are damage-free
• Verify if items pulled out of the package are correct
• Maintain a database of packages
• Fill out forms and papers to record measurement, weight, and product count
• Keep track of inventory
• Remove completed or defective products or materials, placing them on moving equipment such as conveyors or in specified areas such as loading docks
• Seal and label each container
• Move completed packages for loading
• Load or stuff different products or merchandise
• Mark and label containers
• Tag containers with marking tools

Qualifications:

• Dependable
• Ability to move at a fast pace
• Computer literate 
• Previous packing/shipping experience
• Ability to work with others
