About the Role
The Company is seeking an inaugural Assistant Dean of Libraries for Community Experience and Engagement. This pivotal leadership role is focused on shaping the community's experience, connection, and inspiration within the library. The successful candidate will be responsible for integrating physical and digital spaces, public services, and community-centered programming, ensuring that the library is a responsive and proactive part of the intellectual, cultural, and social fabric. The role involves leading service and engagement teams, placemaking and facilities planning, and outreach, with a strong emphasis on frontline or public services, facilities, and community engagement. Applicants for the Assistant Dean position at the company should have a master's degree in Library and Information Science or a related field, with a minimum of 7 years' progressive experience in libraries or similar institutions. The role requires a leader with a unifying vision, capable of guiding a holistic strategy that meets the evolving needs of the community. The Assistant Dean will work closely with the Libraries Leadership Team, library colleagues, and key campus partners, and will be expected to have a strong background in leadership, particularly in the areas of service and engagement. The position demands a candidate who is adept at managing a team, is experienced in facilities and space planning, and has a proven track record in community outreach and engagement.
