This person will develop and apply analytic tools and techniques to define and enhance our risk management framework. This person will also identify and manage risks in Geneva’s existing and newly proposed trading strategies. The role will report to the CAO and work closely with other members of the executive suite and board of directors. How You Can Make An Impact Define and drive enhancements to the firm’s Risk FrameworkUpdate and maintain the firm’s Risk Manual as necessaryWork closely with Senior Management on identifying and assessing risks of potential and existing business linesParticipate in several management meetings per monthSupervise and manage all employees of the Risk team globallyModel, analyze, and optimize existing and new risk matricesDrive the development and implementation of analytical risk models to provide insight into the firm’s various trading activitiesMonitor risk on a real time basis, leveraging our monitoring and analysis framework to identify and communicate important risk-related information to traders and managementInterpret and utilize quantitative results from risk reporting efforts and communicate these effectivelyWork directly with traders and senior management on escalated risk issuesCollaborate with trading and development team members to design and employ risk controls in Geneva’s proprietary execution softwareConduct regulatory reporting as requiredManage trading limits and trading software risk settings within the firmMust be willing to receive training for new asset classes that the firm intends to participate inWhat You'll Need Bachelor’s Degree or above in a quantitative discipline. (physics, finance, economics, econometrics, statistics, mathematics, or equivalent experienceCFA, JD, and/or MBA is a plusAt least 7 years’ relevant experience as a Senior Risk Manager in a derivatives trading environmentExperience with futures, options, cryptocurrency, and power trading strategies and risk management; trading through or managing risk through a market-crisis is highly preferred (i.e. 9/11 or 2008 events)Experience building various models to evaluate and represent derivative market risk, including Historical Simulation, VaR, Scenario Analysis/Stress Testing, Greeks, Option profiles, etc.Experience dealing directly with traders on risk-related issuesExperience and comfort dealing directly with senior management on risk-related issuesDeep understanding of futures and options trading (Fixed Income, FX, Equities, Commodities, etc.) and their GreeksDetailed knowledge of exchange traded derivative products with an emphasis on their risk characteristicsAbility to handle high pressure situationsGood communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage othersDesire to work in a fast paced, collaborative, and entrepreneurial environmentDeep understanding of US, European and Asian regulatory environments including Dodd-Frank, Regulation Automated Trading (Reg AT), MiFID II and Japanese HSTCompensationBase Salary Range: $225,000 - $300,000, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus.Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s skills, experience, education, and qualifications.
