The state supported living centers serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are medically fragile or who have behavioral problems. The centers provide campus-based direct services and supports at 13 centers located throughout Texas. This role will lead and coordinate activities and respond to incidents at the Brenham State Supported Living Center. Responsibilities Monitor homes and grounds, identifying and addressing unusual occurrences and emergencies immediately. Document nightly incidents, concerns, and issues for administrative review. Serve as the first responding professional staff at the scene of critical incidents and as the contact for abuse/neglect allegations. Initiate preliminary unusual incident reports and conduct investigations, evaluating incidents and recommending improvements. Complete special audits and trending projects to ensure ongoing service delivery and health and safety of the people served. Coordinate and monitor service delivery with administrative and supervisory staff; provide input to quality assurance/quality improvement (QAQI) efforts. Train, instruct, and provide in‑service training to facility staff on approved policies, procedures, and guidelines. Investigate and analyze trends, assisting in resolving technical problems and recommending activities to improve programs and operations. Participate in disaster response, recovery, or continuity of operations (COOP) activation as required. Work flexible hours, including overnights, 10‑hour shifts, or 12‑hour shifts; may be on call on a rotating schedule. Complete Fundamentals of Investigations training within 6 months of hire. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Knowledge of ICF/IID standards, the facility Operating Procedures Manual (OPM), Physical and Nutritional Management Plans (PNMP), Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP), Ukeru, and Safe Use of Restraints (SUR) techniques. Ability to communicate orally and in writing; to work harmoniously with co‑workers. Judgment in dealing with unusual incidents and ability to de‑escalate situations. Ability to train staff in job‑related subject areas. Physical ability to perform direct contact duties and complete regular rounds over a wide area. Initial Screening Criteria Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university and at least 2 years of experience working with people who have IDD, responding to emergencies and incidents, conducting audits or monitoring, investigating alleged abuse or neglect. Experience supervising others, training, or supervising projects; and experience dealing with unusual incidents such as abuse, neglect, or other significant incidents in an ICF‑IID or other residential setting. OR high school diploma or equivalent plus at least 6 years of comparable experience in the same areas.
