Position Summary

The LSU Health Sciences Center, Department of Medicine, Section of Pulmonary/Critical Care seeks a collaborative and evidence-based pulmonary /critical care clinician to join our faculty at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (non-tenure, clinical track). The Candidates will focus their clinical effort on growing the Lung Cancer Screening Program at University Medical Center – New Orleans ( UMCNO ). As such, the selected candidate will be expected to staff the newly formed lung nodule outpatient clinic for two half days a week. The candidate should be proficient in bronchoscopy to include EBUS and navigational (Ion platform) biopsy procedures. Dedicated endoscopy time will be provided as needed to support the faculty member’s procedural practice as it grows. The selected candidate will lead a multi-disciplinary lung nodule conference every other week. The faculty member will also teach students, residents, and fellows on inpatient rotations (medical ICU and pulmonary consults) at University Medical Center – New Orleans.

The Section currently consists of 14 faculty members and has an ACGME -accredited training program for 14 pulmonary and critical care fellows.
