Cook Employer: Twin Cities Hotel Job Location: 105 Morrison Road, Longview, AB, T0L 1H0 (Rural area) Salary: $18-$19/hour Salary increases based on annual reviews and performance, per company policy Tips 50% off meals while on shift Terms and Conditions of Employment: 2 permanent, year-round vacancies and 2 seasonal (May to September) vacancies Full-time (30-50 hours per week, depending on season) Shifts include days, mornings, evenings, weekends Overtime may be required Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Requirements Language: English Education: Secondary school or equivalent Experience: 2 years of related experience (or equivalent combination of related education/training and experience) Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, Work under pressure, Standing for extended periods, Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads (up to 23 kg/50 lbs), Ability to operate and train on all kitchen and hotel equipment Personal Suitability: Effective communication, Problem-solving, Adaptability, Client focus, Cultural awareness, Dependability, Team player, Flexibility, Organized, Time management Work Setting: Restaurant, Hotel Cuisine Specialties: Canadian Duties: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment Inspect and clean kitchens, food service, and work areas Supervise kitchen staff and helpers Oversee kitchen operations Assist servers as food runners Wash dishes Additional Information: Must be able and willing to obtain a food safety certificate prior to commencing employment.
