About the Position

Job Title: RN - Emergency Department Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years in Level 1 trauma center required License: RN Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC Must-Have: 3+ years of Level 1 trauma center experience for first-time travelers Description: As an RN in the Emergency Department, you will play a crucial role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care. You must deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making, you will ensure the best patient experience. You will lead efforts to create the safest patient environment across the continuum of care. Patient types will include trauma, stroke, burn cases, and various emergencies. The unit is fast-paced and caters to a diverse array of diagnoses from gunshot wounds to cardiac arrests. RN-to-patient ratios will vary based on clinical area and patient acuity. Support staff will include ED Technicians, Charge Nurses, Critical Care Pharmacists, and other medical professionals. Technology utilized will include EMR, IV Pumps, Medication dispensing devices, and monitoring equipment. Floating to the ED Transition Care Unit may occur. You will be required to work a rotating weekend schedule and 75% of holidays.
