PRN Cook PositionMountain Youth Academy (a UHS company) is seeking a PRN Cook to join our Dietary Team. Position is Full Time Position Located in Mountain City, TN. Mountain Youth Academy is centrally located near Johnson City, TN, Boone, NC, and Abingdon, VA. We are a 120-bed residential treatment facility and assist in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health issues for our young adolescent patients.Position Summary: Prepares and cooks meals for patients/employees of the facility by performing the following duties. The employee will be trained in Handle with Care (HWC) and CPR certified to assist in the supervision of patients as needed.Job and Duties:Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to dietary guidelines.Ensure food safety standards are met during food handling and preparation.Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen and dining areas.Collaborate with dietary staff to plan menus that meet the nutritional needs of residents.Support the dietary department in inventory management and food ordering.Provide excellent service during mealtimes, ensuring a positive dining experience for residents.Assist with meal preparation tasks as needed.Follow all health regulations and company policies regarding food service.Benefit Highlights:Challenging and rewarding work environmentGrowth and development opportunities within UHS and its subsidiariesFree mealsQualifications:Job Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Valid TN Driver's LicensePrevious experience as a Cook or in a similar role is preferred.Minimum of one year experience working full service culinary operation in cafeteria style.Knowledge of food safety practices and dietary guidelines.Demonstrates knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets.Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.Excellent communication skills for interacting with staff and residents.EEO Statement: All UHS subsidiaries are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates.
