The licensed practice nurse (LPN) is responsible for rendering nursing care in assigned area in terms of individualized client needs, according to dependent and independent nursing functions and conformance with recognized nursing techniques, procedures, and established standards based on the scope of practical nursing, under the direction/delegation of the registered nurse./ppEssential Functions:/pulliCommunicates with physicians and develop working relationship and evaluates the patient to determine level of care, when the patient need further, home planning and other needs and action plans and reviews treatment goals and resources/liliPrepares and administers medications and treatments with knowledge of purpose and adverse effects of nursing care provided as well as prepares equipment and aids Physician during treatment and examination of patient while ensuring that patient tests are appropriate and necessary and maintains appropriate costs/liliAssists with providing patient care: records vital signs; discusses and records chief health concerns; performs tests; administers injections as well as administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with scope of practice/liliCompletes expanded assessment of patient at time of initial/new clinic encounter, interprets medical documents and facilitates investigations, medical and treatment referrals and participates in the development and implementation of patient care policies and protocols/liliHelps patients understand their conditions and treatment options while providing education and literature about diagnosis while helping patient and family make informed decisions as well as explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and alleviate apprehension/li/ulpOther duties:/pulliPlaces phone calls to pharmacies to order prescriptions; sets-up referral contacts/liliRefers cases where patients and/or family would benefit from counseling and coordinates the integration of social services/case management function/liliEvaluates patient satisfaction and quality of care provided and maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient/liliPromotes effective and efficient utilization of clinical resources/liliAny additional assigned duties/li/ulpJob Requirements and Qualifications:/pulliGraduate of an accredited school of Nursing required/liliValid registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Missouri required/liliCurrent AHA Healthcare Provider training (BCLS) required/li/ulpAdditional Information:/pulliClinic hours are Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m./lili11 paid holidays per year./liliFull benefits package./liliPublic Service Loan Forgiveness./li/ulpExperience:/pulli1-2 years of experience in a community health center and/or hospital setting/li/ulpWe believe that health care is right and not a privilege.
