Finance Assistant / Accounts Administrator Location: Denham Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum Contract: Permanent, Full-Time Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm Office Based We are recruiting for an experienced Finance Assistant / Accounts Administrator to join a well-established, close‑knit business within the construction sector. This is a varied position working closely with the Finance Controller, combining day‑to‑day accounts responsibilities with general office administration. It would suit someone who enjoys working within a smaller business where everyone works together and is happy to get involved across different areas. The Role Your responsibilities will include: Managing sales and purchase ledger using Sage 50 Processing and inputting supplier invoices Matching invoices against purchase orders Raising, matching and updating purchase orders Producing cost reports for Project Managers Assisting with credit control Monthly company credit card reconciliations, including gathering and matching receipts Dealing with supplier and invoice queries Supporting the Finance Controller with general accounts duties Liaising with accountants regarding CIS and HMRC verifications Checking subcontractor information and relevant company compliance documentation Supporting site and office‑based teams with general queries General administration including filing, answering calls and assisting with the smooth running of the office What We're Looking For Due to the nature of the role, previous finance/accounts experience within the construction industry is essential. You will ideally have: Previous experience working within an accounts or finance position in a construction‑related business Good working knowledge of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) Understanding of the VAT Domestic Reverse Charge Experience using Sage 50 Sales and purchase ledger experience Experience processing invoices and purchase orders Credit control and reconciliation experience Good Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills Strong attention to detail and a highly organised approach A confident, helpful communication style A flexible attitude and willingness to support the wider team when required What's On Offer? Salary up to £40,000, depending on experience Permanent, full‑time position Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm Friendly, close‑knit working environment Varied position offering exposure across finance, projects and general business operations This is a fully office‑based role in Denham and therefore candidates must be comfortable working on‑site five days per week.
