Gallant Business Solutions is hiring a Data Analyst (Data & Technology) to support Prince George’s County Department of Public Works & Transportation (DPW&T). This role will focus on leveraging data analytics, applied statistics, and modern technology systems to support and enhance public transportation operations. The selected candidate will work across multiple data sources and systems to improve service delivery, support decision-making, and drive innovation in transit technology, including Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).

Key Responsibilities

System Management & Technical Support

• Manage and maintain transit technology systems, including Clever CAD/AVL
• Utilize Remix for transit scheduling and service planning
• Troubleshoot system and software issues related to transportation technology
• Serve as liaison between IT teams and program stakeholders to support system adoption and performance

Data Analysis & Visualization

• Analyze data to identify service improvements and support operational decisions
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI
• Clean, transform, and model data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and consistency
• Prepare datasets for advanced analytics and AI-related use cases
• Monitor and manage data collection from systems such as GPS tracking, automated data feeds, and maintenance systems

Technology Implementation & Project Support

• Support implementation of new transit technologies (software and hardware)
• Map transit routes, stops, and service patterns for operational use
• Establish standards for data integration and system governance
• Test and document system enhancements and new features
• Assist in defining project scope, timelines, and deliverables for technology initiatives
• Develop and deliver user training on system functionality and tools

Specialized Duties

• Produce GIS maps for transit corridors, service routes, and infrastructure planning
• Support seasonal service planning processes, including run cuts, scheduling updates, and service changes
• Develop presentations and reports for internal stakeholders
• Ensure data integrity, compliance, and secure data management practices
• Conduct field data collection (e.g., bus stop audits, geo-coding, infrastructure validation)

Systems & Tools

• Remix (Transit Scheduling & Planning)
• Clever Devices / CAD-AVL Systems
• Swiftly (AVL Data Platform)
• Luminator Systems (Bus Signage Control)
• Power BI or equivalent data visualization tools
• Additional transit and data management systems as required
• Additional duties may be assigned based on evolving OT initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (required)
• 4 years of data analysis or program analysis experience
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools
• Strong Excel and data handling skills
• GIS or transportation systems experience (preferred)
• Ability to translate technical data into actionable insights for stakeholders
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Work Details

• Full-time, Monday–Friday (on-site in Largo, MD)
• Limited telework (1 day/week, not Wednesdays)
• Long-term contract (9+ months) with potential for permanent placement
