Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Day/Night Rotating Shifts | 8- and 12-hour shifts, with occasional 4-hour shifts | Every other weekend | Every other holiday | No call required

Key Responsibilities

• Manage 1–2 critically ill patients across varying patient populations including neuro, cardiac, cardiothoracic surgery, trauma, medical, and surgical
• Manage titratable drips including vasopressors, sedatives, analgesics, inotropics, and antiarrhythmics
• Assist with bedside procedures including RSI, EVD placement, tracheostomy, and line placement
• Operate unit equipment including EPIC EMR, Aleris IV pumps, MOOG Feeding pumps, IABP, EVD, Phillips Patient Monitoring Systems, AvaSure, and Impella
• Call in each day prior to shift to confirm assigned critical care unit or location; may float to intermediate ICU (up to 4:1 ratio), additional ICU locations (up to 3:1 ratio), or med-surg units as needed
• Badge in and out at the facility; required scrub color is Navy Blue

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of ICU RN experience in a large hospital (250+ beds)
• Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center experience required
• Experience titrating vasopressor drips required — must be reflected on resume or skills checklist
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• BLS certification — American Heart Association (AHA) required
• ACLS certification — American Heart Association (AHA) required
• NIHSS certification required
• Active ND RN license or compact state RN license required
• Must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates living between 60 and 80 miles may be subject to a local travel rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for critically ill neuro and cardiothoracic surgery patients
• Familiarity with Impella and IABP devices
• Experience with EVD management and monitoring
• Ability to independently manage a complex critical care patient assignment
