Project Manager - Nuclear Projects

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead planning, execution, and delivery of nuclear plant capital and maintenance projects
• Manage outage-related activities including refueling outages, forced outages, and on-line maintenance
• Develop and control project budgets, tracking costs against approved financial plans
• Coordinate project schedules, resources, and work packages to ensure timely execution
• Oversee procurement activities, vendor management, and contract administration
• Ensure compliance with nuclear safety standards, ALARA principles, and regulatory requirements
• Lead and direct cross-functional project teams (5–10 members)
• Monitor project risks, delays, and conflicts, and implement mitigation strategies
• Interface with engineering, operations, finance, and senior management stakeholders
• Support corrective action programs and self-assessment processes
• Prepare and present written and verbal status reports to senior leadership
• Drive continuous improvement in project execution and cost efficiency
• Maintain long-range planning and strategic alignment for assigned projects

Skills:

• 14+ years of project management experience in regulated industrial environments (nuclear strongly preferred)
• Experience managing capital projects, outages, or large-scale maintenance programs
• Strong knowledge of nuclear plant operations, refueling outages, and work management processes
• Experience in budget control, scheduling, and project controls
• Strong vendor and contract management experience
• Familiarity with ALARA planning, safety compliance, and regulatory standards
• Experience leading cross-functional technical teams
• Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent required/preferred
• Experience in construction management or nuclear plant operations highly preferred

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or related field required (advanced degree preferred or may substitute experience as applicable) PMP certification required
