- Perform machine setup and runs on surface grinders and mills
- Read, interpret and comprehend, process prints, engineering and quality standards, and other informational drawings and work instructions.
- Monitor tooling for wear and usage, changing and setting tools as needed.
- Monitor part specific dimensional tolerances while performing the operation & identify non-conforming part features
- Maintain accurate documentation and system inputs (shop traveler, labor charging, production tracking software, inspection results, etc.)
- Identify and report process inefficiencies, machine issues, and improvement opportunities
- Follow work priorities to accomplish production goals
- Can handle contact with coolants, cleaning fluids, and oils (petroleum based products) and chemical vapors from products during the normal manufacturing
- Obtain and maintain required Inspection Certification(s)
- Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned
- 3rd shift: Sunday - Thursday, 11:00 pm - 07:00 am
- Precision surface grinding and other CNC equipment operation as required
- Cross-functional collaboration through various types of manufacturing and processes.
- Gain experience with inspection equipment.
- Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline
- Basic math skills, including adding and subtracting decimals
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn and use multiple computer applications (including email, internet, and other job-specific applications).
- Experience with measurement equipment, i.e. gauges, calipers, etc.
- Experience with basic hand tools.
- Experience reading, interpreting, and following blueprints.
- Experience setting up and operating CNC mills and grinders
- Experience maintaining tight tolerances (<0.0005")
