Credit and Collections Specialist

Job Description The Credit and Collections Specialist is responsible for monitoring customer accounts, collecting outstanding balances, and supporting the company’s credit and collections processes. This role requires a detail-oriented and analytical individual who can effectively communicate with clients, resolve billing disputes, and ensure timely payments — all while maintaining positive customer relationships. Evaluate and approve credit applications based on company criteria. Monitor customer accounts to identify overdue payments. Contact customers to discuss their accounts and arrange payment plans if necessary. Resolve billing and payment discrepancies by working with internal departments and customers. Prepare and send out invoices and account statements to customers. Maintain accurate records of all collection activities and customer communication. Prepare reports on the status of accounts for credit and collections activities. Ensure compliance with all company policies and industry regulations regarding credit and collection. Assist in the development and implementation of credit policies and procedures. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in business or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a credit and collections specialist or in a similar role. Understanding of credit and collections processes and principles. Experience in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
