Step Into Precision on Second Shift

When the floor shifts to 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM, you take the helm. As our Precision Sawing Machinist, you turn raw stock into accurately cut parts that meet tight specifications—safely, efficiently, and with pride. This role offers competitive pay at $24–$26/hour for experienced professionals who thrive on accuracy and consistency.

A Day in Your Role

You begin by reviewing the job packet: shop drawings, blueprints, and work instructions. You select the correct blade or tooling, set up your saw or CNC program, verify machine offsets, and run your first piece, confirming every dimension with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and tape measures. As production ramps up, you monitor performance, make fine calibrations, change blades/bits/inserts as needed, and keep a close eye on quality. If something drifts, your troubleshooting instincts kick in—adjust, correct, and keep parts flowing. Before the shift ends, you complete basic preventative maintenance and leave the area spotless and safe for the next run.

What You Will Do

• Set up, load, and operate industrial saws and CNC equipment with an emphasis on safety and throughput
• Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work instructions to plan accurate cuts
• Verify critical dimensions and tolerances using precision measuring tools
• Monitor machine performance; apply offsets, calibrations, and adjustments as required
• Change blades, bits, and inserts to maintain cut quality and productivity
• Troubleshoot basic issues and perform routine preventative maintenance
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following safety procedures

What You Bring

• Hands-on experience operating CNC machines (mills, lathes, routers) or industrial saws
• Solid understanding of machining/manufacturing processes and part flow
• Background in quality inspection with tight-tolerance work
• Proficiency with micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and tape measures
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot equipment
• High attention to detail and a strong safety mindset
• Comfort working independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

• Experience dialing in machine offsets and performing calibrations
• Preventative maintenance familiarity
• Previous work in metal manufacturing or fabrication environments

Schedule & Pay

Second shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM. Pay range: $24–$26/hour.
