Position Overview City of Biddeford seeks qualified candidates for the position of City Clerk. This key municipal role supports the operations of City Council, maintains official records, and ensures compliance with applicable laws governing elections, public meetings, and municipal processes. Core Responsibilities City Clerk serves as Clerk of the City Council and is responsible for duties including, but not limited to: Providing notice of regular and special City Council meetings in accordance with Charter requirements Preparing and posting meeting agendas in compliance with public notice requirements Maintaining official records of City Council proceedings Recording Council votes, including yeas and nays Performing election‑related duties as required by the City Charter and State law Reviewing referendum questions for compliance with applicable legal standards Providing information and guidance to voters regarding elections and candidacy Performing additional duties as required by State law and City ordinances Qualifications Qualified candidates will possess experience in municipal government, public administration, or a related field.
