Phlebotomist

Job Summary and Qualifications The Phlebotomist is responsible for performing blood collection procedures within areas of competency. The job includes receiving and processing laboratory specimens, answering department phone calls, inventory management, and receiving supplies. When acting as a Laboratory Assistant, in addition to Phlebotomist duties, the individual is responsible for coordinating collections among phlebotomists and preparing and processing samples for testing and reference lab testing. Job Requirements and Qualifications Education: High School or GED required; formal phlebotomy training preferred. Licensure/Certification: None required.
