Journeyman Electrician (Commercial) - Houston TX

The Working Journeyman Electrician is responsible for performing skilled electrical work on commercial construction projects. This role combines expert hands‑on installation with leadership in supporting apprentices and contributing to job‑site efficiency. The ideal candidate is proficient in interpreting blueprints, installing electrical systems per NEC standards, and maintaining safety and quality on site Responsibilities Work on and around high voltage energized and general electrical equipment Install various types of electrical conduit systems according to NEC standards Cut, bend, and run conduit as specified on blueprints Set up and maintain temporary power systems Install and maintain grounding systems for all equipment and structures Install junction boxes, panels, switches, plugs, and fixtures Terminate wires and cables to electrical equipment, including breakers, control panels, and distribution systems, with technical understanding and quality craftsmanship Test electrical components for continuity and proper voltage readings per specifications Build out electrical services and demonstrate knowledge in service applications Communicate and work under the direction of a Supervisor/Foreman (Licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician) Able to work well under pressure, especially when facing tight timelines, unexpected delays, or urgent tasks Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills Reliable, accountable, and consistent in performing assigned tasks Safety-conscious and able to follow all instructed safety regulations Detail-oriented and results-driven Knowledgeable in the use of electrical tools and equipment Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage administrative functions Ambitious with a desire to grow within the company Familiarity with CenterPoint standards preferred Physical Requirements (These requirements ensure you can perform essential duties safely and effectively.)
