About the Position

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT-NICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year required; 3+ years recent experience strongly preferred for first-time travelers License: DC RRT License required Certifications: RRT, BLS, PALS (All required prior to start) Must-Have: Pediatric experience strongly preferred Description: This position is for a Respiratory Therapist in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The role requires working weekends only, specifically Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Travelers must confirm their availability for this schedule prior to submission. No request for time off will be approved during the assignment. Travelers should have experience with neonates and pediatric patients. Licensure and certifications must be current and valid prior to starting. The role includes floating within the scope of practice but not to sister facilities. Airway management and patient ventilation skills are essential. Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy techniques, including bronchodilator therapy and CPAP/BiPAP management, is required. The facility is a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and a teaching hospital. Required certifications include BLS, PALS, and RRT. Travel experience is preferred, and candidates should be comfortable in a critical care environment. This position will provide care to a diverse patient population, requiring strong collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Candidates should be prepared for potential scheduling changes based on facility needs. All travelers must demonstrate compliance and complete prerequisite requirements prior to start. Return travelers must have been separated from prior assignments for at least one year. Pre-start modules must be completed before orientation. Candidates should be prepared for potential training on facility systems and protocols.
