This position involves both clinical and administrative responsibilities within our ambulatory services, adhering to established policies and procedures. Under the guidance of a physician, the role includes patient triage, venipuncture, laboratory testing, and follow-up care. Clinical Care Specialists (CCSs) who are certified Radiologic Technologists will also conduct and transmit X-ray diagnostic images. Accurate documentation in medical records is essential to support efficient patient flow.

• Assist in achieving departmental goals while adhering to policies, quality standards, and safety regulations, including compliance with governmental and accreditation requirements.
• Perform X-ray procedures as per medical provider orders, ensuring the acquisition of high-quality images and sending them to the appropriate locations for interpretation, repeating images when necessary.
• Understand the equipment and procedures relevant to all specialists within the facility. Process prescription refills after obtaining physician approval and complete test requisitions as needed. Support physicians during patient examinations, testing, and education.
• Maintain personal credentials for radiography and ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of work areas, reporting any unsafe conditions.
• Facilitate patient flow through consistent communication with patients and their families, demonstrating genuine concern for their time and comfort.
• Monitor equipment functionality, report issues promptly, and ensure proper cleaning and sterilization of tools and patient rooms. Dispose of expired medications appropriately.
• Conduct annual reporting, including protective device surveys and repeat analyses for diagnostic imaging.
• Utilize multifunctional skills for various tests and care consistent with practice scope, including spirometry, vital signs, EKGs, vision and hearing tests, and more, under physician supervision.
• Prepare necessary documentation such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, and progress reports as required by the profession and department.
• Foster a respectful atmosphere towards patients, families, vendors, and colleagues, maintaining professionalism at all times. Provide care aligned with our mission and values, aiming to exceed patient expectations and build trust.
• Act as a patient advocate throughout the care process and assist with discharge, ensuring clarity for patients and their families.
• Support clinic team members during busy periods to ensure optimal patient flow and manage variable patient volumes throughout the day. Provide telephone triage services as needed and follow up with patients regarding lab tests and clinical results.
• Under physician supervision, prepare and administer oral medications and injections (intradermal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular) after demonstrating competency.
• Engage in multi-disciplinary quality and service improvement initiatives.

• Education: High School Diploma or GED is required; completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program is mandatory; an Associate's degree is preferred; completion of an approved Medical Assistant program is also preferred.
• Experience: Required externship in a medical or ambulatory health setting; 1-2 years of medical office experience is preferred, especially with electronic medical records.
• Licenses and Certifications:
  • ARRT certification is required.
  • American Board of Radiology - ABR Radiology Technologist license in Maryland is required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by AAMA is preferred, or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through American Medical Technologists.
  • CPR certification (including BLS and NRP) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required within 90 days.
  • Additional certifications may vary by department.

• Demonstrated clinical competency verified during the initial 90-day orientation and annually thereafter.
• Strong customer service and patient interaction skills, along with proficiency in electronic medical records and adaptability in a multi-specialty clinical environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Capability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to multitask and collaborate with multiple physicians across various specialties.
• Capacity to maintain an appropriate work pace relative to workload demands.

This position offers a competitive salary range of USD $29.73 - USD $53.49 per hour.
