Mail Room Clerk

Bargaining Unit: OPEIU Local 153, Level:3 Reports to: Administrative Director Position Summary: Perform tasks associated with mailroom activity under general supervision and in accordance with established policies and procedures, including timely processing of incoming, outgoing and interoffice mail, shipping, receiving, outbound courier shipments and messenger deliveries, and print reproduction. Job Responsibilities (include but not limited to): Sort incoming mail and deliveries, place in correct mail slots. When appropriate, notify department of deliveries and assist in delivery. Scan certain incoming checks and mail and save to digital filing system. Maintain records for certified, registered and insured mail. Order paper from vendor for mailroom print purposes and office copy machines; maintain inventory of both. Upon delivery of office coffee, milk, etc., relocate goods to office pantry as needed. Provide general assistance to the Communications/New York Office Admin Departments when needed. Maintain supplies for copier machines (paper, toner, drums) throughout office. Operate high-capacity copiers to do print finishing, pre-press, trim work, drill press, booklets, postcards, reports, signs, and other projects to support the union’s mission Point of contact for copier/printer maintenance and service calls Fulfill orders for items kept on site, preparing shipment to ensure orders arrive on time. Job Requirements / Qualifications: High school diploma and a minimum of 2 years of mailroom experience and print production, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. EFI Fiery knowledge Experience with high volume digital printers Computer programs: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Monday.com. Ability to do mail merges using Word and Excel, Monday.com Knowledge of Pitney Bowes Send Pro Express, UPS Campus Ship, postal meters, scales and basic computer skills. Physical ability to lift at least 50lbs and stand for long periods. Why Join Us?
