Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor (MS) registered nurse position available in a short-term acute care facility. This role involves providing high-quality patient care on a busy medical-surgical unit, with a focus on trauma and acute care services. The position offers an opportunity to work in a Magnet and Level I Trauma Center, supporting a diverse patient population including geriatric trauma, abuse victims, and postoperative surgical patients.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour shift days, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid license in the relevant state; no specific prior experience minimum; certification in BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS; 5 years of overall experience; 6 years of patient ratio experience; 1-year charting system experience with Epic; 5 years of patient care experience with both community hospital and trauma level II experience preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge experience, trauma level I experience, travel experience.
• Float: Float within scope to meet facility needs.
• Additional Information: Must pass Relias EKG exam; interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required. Experience with special procedures such as blood product administration, IV starts, wound care, trauma management, and use of special equipment like lifts and wound vacs is essential. The unit manages patients from ED, OR, and ICU, with daily census around 50-55 patients.
• License Requirements: MO license submission acceptable; IL license required at time of submittal; compact license must match permanent residence if applicable.
• Travel & RTO Policies: Travel experience required; maximum of 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract, no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment.
• Other Details: All travelers will float within service line. Orientation is scheduled with parking in the Laclede Garage. Proper assessment for fit testing is required, especially for facial hair.
