Bartender PositionServes customers responsibly by mixing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks while performing administrative duties and ensuring patrons safety.Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:Prepare mixed drinks by selecting and mixing ingredients according to recipes.Garnishes drinks by slicing and pitting fruits; preparing olives and other such garnishes for drinks.Prepare and serve beer for patrons in a fast and courteous manner.Be knowledgeable with the wines offered and serve patrons effectively.Maintains attractive bar by arranging bottles and glasses for display; remove soiled glassware and empty bottles and cans; ensuring cleanliness.Maintain supplies by requisitioning, or re-stocking liquors, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic ingredients, and replacing beer kegs.Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities including Serve Safe alcohol awareness; keeping abreast of drink trends; exploring new recipes.Enhance bar reputation by properly carding patrons and following safe alcohol serving procedures; safeguarding guests.Maintaining a high level of customer service.Management of administrative office work including contracts, receipt of payment, filing and reporting.Collect money for drinks served.Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.Balance cash receipts.Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers' excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons.Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment.Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons.Serve wine, and bottled or draft beer.Clean bars, work areas, and tables.Mix ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters, to prepare cocktails and other drinks.Serve snacks or food items to customers seated at the bar.All other duties as assigned.Qualifications to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
