Job Purpose

The Maintenance Technician works closely with production teams, fellow maintenance personnel, and outside contractors to coordinate the installation, repair, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and building infrastructure. Success in this role requires strong technical skills, effective communication, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the installation, repair, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and building infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance using safe work practices and established procedures
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, machinery, plumbing systems, HVAC equipment, and facility infrastructure
  • Coordinate effectively with production personnel, contractors, and subcontractors to complete maintenance projects
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance with company policies and industry standards
  • Work independently, prioritize tasks, and respond effectively to changing production and maintenance needs

Required Education and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
  • Strong troubleshooting and repair skills for electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment
  • Willingness to work overtime and flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds regularly; heavier loads require mechanical assistance or team lifting
  • Ability to frequently bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch

Preferred Education and Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pumps, electrical systems, HVAC, electronics, welding, and machining is preferred
  • Ability to apply these skills to troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and install production equipment and facility systems
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices, interpreting technical drawings and schematics, and safely operating maintenance tools and equipment is highly desirable

Core Competencies:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment and facility systems to maximize reliability and uptime
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance using safe work practices and established procedures
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, machinery, plumbing systems, HVAC equipment, and facility infrastructure
  • Apply sound mechanical and electrical troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and resolve equipment issues
  • Coordinate effectively with production personnel, contractors, and subcontractors to complete maintenance projects
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance with company policies and industry standards
  • Work independently, prioritize tasks, and respond effectively to changing production and maintenance needs
