Pay Rate: $2,200.00 - $2,400.00 gross per week

Assignment Length: 3 mo up to 1 yr commitment they are willing to accept

EMR: RPMS

Schedule: 5 – 8 hours shifts sometimes as late as 7pm. With the possibility of switching to 10’s once they can work by themselves. Mon-Fri

• Schedules will be coordinated with each Service Unit Laboratory Supervisor. 

Additional Details about the position

• Perform, update and/or review Quality Control, Calibrations, and Maintenance.
• Prepare patients and collect blood specimens utilizing arterial puncture, venipuncture or capillary methods.
• Prepare patients for collection of other specimen types such as urine and stool.
• Process and analyze clinical laboratory specimens using various diagnostic laboratory equipment such as analyzers, microscopes, and centrifuges.
• Review, verify and report patient results.
• Must be proficient in major areas of the clinical laboratory, such as clinical chemistry, hematology, coagulation, blood bank, serology, urinalysis, microbiology, and molecular testing.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• 2-3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting. Phlebotomy required.
• Laboratory Technicians must be proficient in major areas of the clinical laboratory, such as clinical chemistry, hematology, coagulation, blood bank, serology, urinalysis, microbiology, and molecular testing.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Two year associate’s degree in medical technology, Clinical Laboratory Science or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by a recognized certifying body (e.gASCP, AMT).
• Familiar with IHS systems such as RPMS, or VistA

LICENSURE REQUIREMENT

• Any State License
