2027 Summer Internship - Product Strategy Analyst, US

Internship positions are located at PIMCO's Newport Beach, CA Headquarters

You're eligible to apply if you:

• Are pursuing an undergraduate degree - preferably majoring in Business/Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or applied science
• Must be eligible to begin full-time employment from a PIMCO office between January 20208- August 20208
• Must be enrolled at a university during the Fall 2027 semester (August 2027- December 2027)
• Have a minimum 3.5 cumulative collegiate grade point average on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent) at an accredited 4-year college or university
• Must be willing to work in Newport Beach, CA

You'll excel as a Product Analyst if you have:

• A interest in the financial markets, investing, and macroeconomics
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• An analytical, detail-oriented skill set
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong time management and organization skills
• The ability to work effectively and professionally with all levels of personnel both internally and externally
• Demonstrate curiosity and experience in using new emerging technologies and AI tools in your work or school projects to solve problems and drive better outcomes

You’ll gain a strong understanding of the business of investment management across market segments. Responsibilities vary between teams but may include some of the following:

• Market and economic updates
• Portfolio commentaries
• Portfolio construction & analysis
• Competitor intelligence
• Client presentation materials
• Risk and performance attribution
• Development of AI tools to help facilitate productivity of certain workflows

Product Strategy Group

The Product Strategy Group is an entrepreneurial team responsible for financial market and investment strategy expertise (both internally and externally), strategic business management, new product development, and establishing key messaging for client marketing and servicing across a wide range of PIMCO product lines. As part of this team, you will gain broad exposure to financial markets, product design/development and distribution, portfolio analysis, and client communication.

While our eligibility requirements are not flexible, we encourage you to apply even if you do not possess 100% of the desired skills outlined above.

The PIMCO Internship Experience:

• The PIMCO Internship is a 10-week program that runs from early June to mid-August, with the expectation that you will be available for the full duration of the program
• During Week 1, you’ll participate in PIMCO Fundamentals Training, providing you with the skills, knowledge, and relationships that will prepare you for success
• Your supervisor, peer mentor, senior leaders and team offer guidance and mentorship throughout the summer
• You’ll receive feedback at mid- and end-of-summer as part of a formal review process to keep you on the path to meeting your summer goals
• You will gain hands‑on experience with AI‑powered tools from day one, with training and resources that help build future‑ready skills and make an impact from the start
• Alongside your colleagues, participate in PIMCO's Global Month of Volunteering, developed to heighten the impact of our employees' worldwide volunteer efforts

What to expect during the interview process:

• After we receive your application, we will conduct an initial review of your resume
• If you are selected to move forward, you will take a cognitive assessment and have the opportunity to showcase your interests, skills, and personality by completing a one‑way video interview
• Once you complete the assessment and one‑way video interview, you will have a final round of live interviews via video conference. These interviews typically include both behavioral and technical questions

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.

Hourly Rate: $ 43.26
