PeaceHealth is looking for an experienced ICU RN to join our Neuro Trauma ICU. Position Details Full Time, 0.9 FTE Night Shift (12 hour shifts) Salary: $49.30 – $77.46 Advanced Education pay: BSN +4% MSN +5% Night shift differential: $9.50/hour Hiring Bonus and relocation for eligible candidates What We Offer Relocation Assistance Great shift differentials & Meal Break Nurses Medical and Dental, Vision, Retirement, and Paid Time Off PTO with no waiting period Professional practice support Collaborative team environment Essential Functions Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs. Document patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards. Direct and delegate care to other team members based on education, credentials, and competence. Ensure own professional effectiveness through education and development. Participate in the development and maintenance of hospital policies, procedures, quality improvement, safety, and infection prevention programs. Perform other duties as assigned. Manage ventriculostomy, EVD, and ICP; provide nursing care for patients with non-traumatic ICH, SAH, seizures, multisystem trauma, post‑tPA, thrombectomy, aneurysm coiling, carotid and intracranial stenting; manage blood pressure abnormalities with vasoactive agents; perform complex neurological assessments; care for medical and complex illnesses requiring frequent intervention. Qualifications Education Degree from an accredited School of Nursing required Experience Minimum of six months critical care/ICU experience in an acute care facility within the last five years required, or for RN Residents successful completion of an approved critical care training course/orientation and standard competencies within six months of hire. Minimum of one year RN experience in an Intensive Care unit specializing in Cardiac, Neuro, or Trauma preferred. Credentials State of Oregon nursing license required. Basic Life Support required upon hire. NIHSS and ACLS required within six months of hire. Skills Knowledge of and ability to apply age‑specific principles of growth and development to meet patient needs (Required). Provide positive interpersonal relationships and patient/family‑centered environment (Required). Support and interpret medical center philosophy, policy, and procedures (Required). Basic computer skills (Required). Department / Location Specific Notes Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within six months. National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS) required within six months. Working Conditions Lifting Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs without assistive equipment (NIOSH). Fine motor skills to grasp and control equipment and perform precise procedures. Push/Pull up to 45 lbs force (e.g., medical carts). Hands‑on CPR at least 20 mins using 100‑125 lbs of force; frequency seldom or occasionally. Ability to move around area with frequent sitting. Bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, kneeling frequently. Non‑patient lifting up to 20 lbs occasionally and 5 lbs frequently. Environmental Conditions Exposure to biohazard, body fluids, and airborne particles. Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment. Mental/Visual Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted). Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
