Quality Inspector

The Quality Inspector performs incoming inspections on manufactured components and materials, using both visual and dimensional inspection techniques to ensure products meet specifications and quality standards. This role regularly uses a computer to access and interpret engineering prints and documentation, and works closely with a small quality team in a fast-paced, production environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming inspections on parts and materials to verify they meet required specifications and quality standards.
• Use calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools to complete detailed dimensional inspections.
• Conduct thorough visual inspections to identify defects, damage, or nonconformances.
• Utilize a computer system to pull up, view, and interpret engineering prints and related documentation.
• Read and interpret blueprints to determine critical dimensions, tolerances, and inspection criteria.
• Support first article inspections by measuring and documenting initial production runs to validate processes.
• Perform moisture testing and other specified quality checks as required by procedures or customer requirements.
• Document inspection results accurately and clearly in the appropriate systems or forms.
• Communicate inspection findings and quality concerns clearly to production, engineering, or leadership.
• Work both independently and as part of a small quality team to meet inspection priorities and deadlines.
• Follow established quality control and quality assurance procedures to maintain consistent inspection practices.
• Contribute to a safe work environment by following safety procedures and reporting near misses or concerns.

Essential Skills

• Strong computer skills, including the ability to navigate systems to access and review prints and documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints or demonstrate strong math skills to support dimensional inspection work.
• Hands-on experience with dimensional inspection tools such as calipers and gauges.
• Proficiency in visual inspection to identify defects and nonconforming conditions.
• Solid understanding of quality control, quality assurance, or quality inspection principles.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey findings and collaborate with others.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing assigned inspection tasks.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in measurements, documentation, and reporting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is a plus.
• Experience with first article inspection processes is highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with moisture testing procedures and equipment is an advantage.
• Blueprint reading experience combined with strong analytical and math skills.
• Bilingual communication skills are a plus and can support collaboration across teams.

Work Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Petersburg, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
