As a member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of patients while enjoying competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and the support of a dedicated clinical team.Required Qualifications:\n\n One year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN\n Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations\n Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n ACLS (AHA/ARC), PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certifications\n OR Nursing Certification (CNOR)\n Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position\nSummary:\nThe Operating Room Registered Nurse provides comprehensive patient care throughout the perioperative process, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients during surgical procedures. This role involves preparing the operating room, managing surgical equipment, and collaborating with the surgical team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. The OR RN collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and adheres to the highest standards of patient safety, infection control, and professional ethics in a dynamic surgical environment.Essential Work Functions:\n\n Prepares the operating room by ensuring all required instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready and functional for each surgical procedure\n Assists in positioning and preparing patients for surgery, addressing concerns and ensuring comfort and safety according to procedural requirements\n Maintains a sterile field throughout surgical procedures and adheres to infection control protocols and sterile technique\n Anticipates the needs of the surgical team, providing instruments, supplies, and support promptly to maintain efficient workflow\n Monitors the patient's condition during surgery, documenting significant changes and notifying the surgeon\n Handles surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring their proper use, sterilization, and disposal according to facility protocols\n Manages specimen collection, labeling, and transport according to facility protocols, ensuring accurate diagnostic results\n Documents all aspects of patient care in the perioperative setting accurately and thoroughly\n Participates in patient handoff communication during pre- and post-operative phases, ensuring continuity of care\n Assists in cleaning and restocking the operating room between cases, adhering to infection control and turnover protocols\n Collaborates with the surgical team to ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and standards\n Follows hospital safety rules and procedures, including proper use of PPE and infection prevention measures\n Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice\nRequired Essential Skills:\n\n Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills\n The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language\n Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills\n Physical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend\n Interpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism\n Technical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment\n Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel.
