Registered Nurse - PRN

Schedule 4 shifts in a 9 week period Responsibilities Using the nursing process to complete admission physical, cognitive, spiritual, psychosocial, and functional assessments; formulate plan of care and review and revise it on an ongoing basis. Assess patient and family understanding and educational needs; provide education and redirect care as needed. Assess discharge needs at admission and throughout the patient stay; develop, review, and implement the discharge plan. Give reports to other members of the health care team; participate in in‑services and patient care conferences. Maintain The Joint Commission standards and assist in unit readiness for visits. Participate in department performance‑improvement activities and serve on hospital or system committees; maintain two‑way communication between inpatient staff and committees. Provide patient care and education according to the patient population served. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrate clinical competence in providing safe, quality direct patient care and educating patients and families. Communicate concisely with patients, families, and staff; collaborate with the health care team to enhance care. Make nursing assessments and think critically. Possess detailed knowledge of the use and maintenance of a wide variety of equipment and supplies. Complete patient documentation thoroughly, concisely, accurately, and in a timely manner. Respond quickly and calmly to emergencies and stressful situations. Independently manage multiple priorities. Required Qualifications Registered nurse who is a graduate of an accredited school with a current state license. Current CPR (BLS) certification. ACLS certification within six months of transfer or hire. PALS certification within six months of transfer or hire. Prior working knowledge of computer programs and electronic medical records. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Minimum of two years of experience in an acute hospital setting. Pediatric experience.
