Facilities Specialist

Under the direction of the Maintenance HVAC Lead, the Facilities Specialist will participate in projects and day-to-day operations of work in repair, maintenance, coordination of contractors, security of the buildings and grounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Involved in adjusting HVAC controls/systems and managing facility security system access controls
• Involved in working with outside contractors for all building and grounds services
• Check and monitor buildings and grounds on a continuous basis for potential hazards and security issues; handles security concerns, and roofing issues.
• Assist with purchasing goods and services, getting multiple bids for each project
• Follow safety rules and keep work areas in clean and orderly condition.
• Fix unsafe conditions and perform all duties in a safe manner.
• Serve as an active member of the Safety team working hand in hand with the EHS Specialist.
• Manage plant waste materials, including hazardous wastes. Must understand and follow waste management requirements for handling hazardous, nonhazardous, universal and other wastes.

Skills and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED Required
• 3-5 years of experience in facilities or maintenance
• Some engineering skills required
• Proven ability to work with vendors and contractors
• Computer skills required
• Detail Oriented with the ability to Multi-task

Physical Work Conditions

• Must be able to work in a hot environment
• Must be able to lift varying weights
• Must be able to stand and walk for up to 12 hours per day
• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment when required
