Work Shift Job Summary: RN – Acute Care – Cardiac Telemetry – Full-Time Night Shift The RN Clinical Nurse works as a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care givers who ensure that patients, families and significant others receive individualized high quality, safe patient care. The practice is administered by Nurse Managers and supported through the Wellstar Shared Governance Model. RN competencies are derived from the Wellstar Professional Practice Model, evidence‑based practice and research, and supported by the Wellstar Values. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Exemplary Practice and Outcomes Performs the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes, planning, implementation, evaluation) using evidence‑based practice and analytical/critical thinking to individualize care. Provides relationship‑based, patient‑centered care that reflects population‑specific characteristics and cultural diversity. Partners with patients and significant others to set goals and maintain focus on the patient’s plan of care, using bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, timely teaching and continuous updates. Practices using current clinical practice standards. Teamwork and Collaboration Coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care that promotes a professional care delivery model and inclusive interdisciplinary communication. Demonstrates teamwork by practicing fiscal responsibility and supporting recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members. Participates in performance improvement, research, and shared governance at all levels in the system. Professional Development and Initiative Completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, mandatory education, and population‑specific education. Serves as a preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses, staff, or students across disciplines to ensure a qualified future workforce. Evidence Based Practice and Research Promotes evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement, including participation in value analysis for patient care product evaluation. Upholds all system policies, procedures, and clinical competencies per legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements, including TJC Patient Safety Goals and Wellstar health system safety absolutes. Participates in data collection, poses clinical questions, consults experts, and uses evidence to address practice questions. Resources and Support Proactively plans patient care across the continuum while providing direct patient care. Participates in developing protocols and procedures in collaboration with care managers to achieve best practice outcomes. Supports efficient and effective use of human and material resources. Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct. Required Minimum Education Associate’s Degree in Nursing or graduation from an accredited/approved school of nursing; or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s) RN – Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN‑COMPACT – RN (Multi‑state Compact) BLS – Basic Life Support or BLS‑I – Basic Life Support Instructor Required Minimum Experience Minimum of 2 years direct patient care nursing experience. Required Minimum Skills Ability to read, write and speak English; proficiency in using technology to support clinical care and basic computer skills; strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer‑service skills; ability to function in a fast‑paced environment and respond to emergencies with decisiveness, composure, and respect; excellent time‑management and critical‑thinking skills.
