The machinists in the organization help replace AHU bearings, they manufacture sheet metal components, shafts, operating room doors. We are looking for someone who can manufacture metal parts, someone who is creative and knows how to problem solve. Work one weekend rotation.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Maintain, repair, or replace mechanical parts, as needed, on electrical motors, and on fans of air handling equipment; modifies or alters air handling equipment as necessary.Perform prototype and fabrication work.Maintain, repair, or replace mechanical equipment used in hospital treatment and care areas to include O.R. tables, lights, beds, wheelchairs, carts, tables, and other mechanical equipment used in patient-care areas.Assemble, disassemble, or reassemble metal furniture, shelving, lockers, and other metal furnishings.Perform metal repair as needed.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Completion of four years' apprenticeship for Machinist or knowledge obtained through four years of on-the-job training experience as a MachinistThree years of experience as machinist/mechanic, one year of which machinist experience must have been in an industrial, commercial, or institutional settingPhysical Requirements:Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periodsAbility to be mobile for extended periods of timeAbility to communicate and exchange accurate informationAbility to move/transport items weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)Ability to move/transport equipment weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)Ability to move/transport carts weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)Ability to distinguish colorAbility to climb laddersPersonal Protective Equipment:Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.The policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Health System) is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our drug free environment.
