[Immediate] Temporary Part- Time Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist - Queens

Position Overview We are currently looking for a Part‑time Speech Language Pathologist at our Forest Hills West School. This temporary position is open until mid‑August 2026. Why Join ADAPT? Job Type Part‑time Summary Under general direction, the Speech Language Pathologist will provide assessment, therapy, and related services to students according to their Individualized Family Service Plan, Individual Education Plan, or Interim Individual Education Plan, and will participate in the consultative process with parents and team members. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides speech and language assessment and evaluation to determine developmental level and needs; analyzes results and prepares written summary for Early Intervention, CPSE, CSE, and other regulatory, referring or oversight organizations. Plans and conducts speech and language interventions to meet established goals. Implements testing procedures to evaluate and monitor student progress as required by the appropriate regulatory agency; provides reports of results to EI/CPSE/CSE. Assesses oral motor development and ability to intake food orally; develops a treatment plan appropriate to identified disabilities. Keeps abreast of latest alternative communication techniques and implements appropriate utilization of AAC devices. Provides in‑service training regarding AAC device use and techniques. Maintains daily and monthly attendance records and progress notes. Provides therapy progress reports to parents/guardians and appropriate team members; meets and communicates with parents/guardians regularly in writing or verbally. Participates in team meetings and case conferences as required. Ensures individuals receive services appropriate to their needs and consistent with educational goals and regulatory requirements. Participates in initial evaluation and intake processes. Completes all required documentation in a timely and accurate manner. Provides supervision to students and CFY’s as assigned. Performs other related duties as requested. Qualifications Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with employees, coworkers, consumers, families, other programs, and external contacts. Strict confidentiality and professionalism. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks. Organizational and time‑management skills. Strong oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of assistive technology, augmentative communication, picture exchange communication systems, and manual sign language preferred. Competence with personal computers and electronic devices. Ability to provide therapeutic intervention in a school program or at a student’s home. Analytical skills for problem solving and corrective action. Availability Monday‑Friday, 8 a.m.–3 p.m. Education and/or Experience Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology. One year of prior speech‑therapy experience preferred. License/Certification Current NY State license in Speech and Language Pathology. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency required. NYSED Certification as a Teacher of Speech and Hard of Hearing (TSHH) is mandated. For bilingual therapists: NYSED TSSH Certification with Bilingual Extension. Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates will be supervised. Compensation $44.57 per hour plus a $1,500 sign‑on bonus and industry‑leading benefits.
