Job Title: Shipboard Outside Machinist Technition

Job Description: Aerotek is looking to hire an Outside Machinist for Newport News VA. The pay is based off experience and interview. No clerance required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, overhaul, and perform operational testing of electrical systems aboard ships in support of the Refueling Complex Overhaul program.

• Inspect, maintain, and repair naval ventilation systems, including cooling coils, preheaters, and ventilation ducting, to ensure reliable operation.

• Read and interpret mechanical and system drawings, including chilled water and ventilation schematics, to plan and execute work accurately.

• Perform overhaul, repair, removal, and installation of mechanical components such as flanges, fittings, valves, and associated equipment.

• Conduct flange and fitting inspections to verify integrity and compliance with technical standards.

• Perform hydrostatic testing on applicable systems and components to confirm proper performance and leak-free operation.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $28.00/hr.
