Metro Services is seeking to immediately fill an HR Assistant position for a Manufacturing company in Kokomo, IN. This is a Temp-to-Direct Hire job. Apply now!

Duties for this position include:

• Provide administrative support to the Human Resources Manager and assist with daily HR operations
• Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files, HR databases, and other confidential documentation
• Perform general office duties, including scanning, filing, data entry, preparing documents, and maintaining organized records
• Assist with recruitment by posting jobs, reviewing applications, screening resumes, contacting applicants, and scheduling interviews
• Coordinate new-hire onboarding, orientation, employment paperwork, and required training
• Monitor employee attendance, tardiness, absences, overtime, and leave records
• Review timekeeping records and assist with collecting and verifying payroll-related information
• Communicate with supervisors and department managers regarding staffing needs, attendance concerns, and schedule changes
• Respond to routine employee questions regarding HR procedures, policies, attendance, and other employment-related matters
• Assist with maintaining training records, certifications, employee rosters, and staffing reports
• Coordinate meetings, interviews, orientations, and training schedules across departments
• Assist with documentation related to employee status changes, transfers, wage adjustments, disciplinary actions, and separations
• Support compliance with company policies, employment regulations, and recordkeeping requirements
• Handle sensitive employee information with professionalism and confidentiality
• Perform other HR administrative duties and projects as assigned

Compensation (USD):

$20.00/hour

Schedule:

1st Shift

Monday - Friday

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Part-time, approximately 25 hours per week. 

Specific working hours to be coordinated based on departmental needs.

Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
• Previous experience in human resources, office administration, recruitment, or payroll support preferred
• Manufacturing, staffing agency, or high-volume workforce experience is a plus
• Basic understanding of HR practices, employee records, attendance tracking, and payroll support
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to learn and use HR systems, applicant tracking systems, and timekeeping software
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
• Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment
• Reliable attendance, accountability, and follow-through
