GENERAL DESCRIPTION (1-3 LINES DESCRIBING ROLE):

The Physical Therapist works to provide direct, one-on-one and small group support to students who require intensive, ongoing physical therapy to meet IEP goals and successfully participate in activities throughout the school day.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

Physical Therapy degree from an accredited program Massachusetts Physical Therapist license

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

1-3 years of experience providing Physical Therapy for individuals in an educational setting

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES (NOT LIMITED TO):

Physical Therapy Services Therapy and consultation services will be provided to students based on the individual needs of each student and in compliance with each child's IEP. Provide services in the least restrictive setting in accordance with the child’s IEP. Consult with other Related Services providers, teachers, and parents in order to provide effective services in a variety of settings, Develop, update, and adhere to both a daily and weekly schedule Maintain records of prior planning or lessons and to keep therapy notes for each child and therapy session and to maintain accurate records of student attendance Document progress in a progress report at the conclusion of the ESY Program Responsible for implementing “other job-related duties” as needed Ability to travel to different schools is required

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUISITES:

Work Environment: Majority of work is performed in a school/classroom environment. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, talk, and hear. The employee is regularly required to bend, stoop, crouch and/or kneel. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Vision and hearing correctable to within normal ranges.
