Overview Physician (Family Medicine) – Direct Hire Solicitation at Army Medical Center Madigan, WA, situated on Joint Base Lewis‑McChord, WA. Relocation or recruitment incentive may be authorized and salary negotiation may be available for federal candidates. Medical malpractice liability insurance is not required for federal civilian healthcare providers as they are covered by the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. § 1346(b)). Location Joint Base Lewis‑McChord, WA. The AMC is one of the three designated Level Two trauma centers within U.S. Military Medical Command. Examine active duty service members, family members, and other authorized beneficiaries to determine the presence and extent of diseases and conditions. Administer appropriate care and or refer cases requiring hospitalization or subspecialty care. Perform procedures including vasectomy, reduction of simple fractures, lumbar puncture, emergency deliveries, endometrial biopsy, joint aspiration/injection, proctosigmoidoscopy, ECG performance and interpretation, basic radiographs, insertion/removal of IUD, regional anesthesia, splinting/casting/immobilization, crisis intervention, and advanced cardiac life support. Review physical requirements and conduct physical examinations of various categories of military and civilian personnel to determine individual qualification based on established guides. Supervise medical students, externs, residents, and other non‑professional health care providers when needed, including medical records reviews, consultative services, and direct observation of provider. Documentation of supervision will comply with Army Regulation 40‑48 and applicable guidance. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Basic Eligibility – US citizen. Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from an accredited U.S. or Canadian medical school, or a foreign medical school meeting equivalence requirements. Licensure: Current, active, full, unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a U.S. state, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory. Graduate Training: At least one year of supervised clinical experience following the medical degree (internship or first year of residency program in an accredited institution). Residency Training: Minimum of four years of accredited residency training in Family Medicine; experience may not substitute required residency training. Salary will be determined after acceptance of the initial offer by the Activity Compensation Panel, based on pay system tier appropriate for specialty, grade, and location.
