Job Details Job Location: somniTech - Sioux Falls, SD 57106 Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time Education Level: High School Salary Range: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour Travel: Extensive travel and driving required Job Shift: Graveyard Job Category: Health Care This position is offered for full-time, part-time, and per diem (PRN) statuses. Job Purpose: Provide comprehensive sleep testing and analysis and associated interventions, including performing titrations. May also work days to analyze recordings and prepare reports. Duties and Responsibilities Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Assures patient/personal safety by maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment. Upon patients’ arrival, verify identification, review medical orders, collect documents and obtain consent for the study. Develops and maintains an effective working relationship with patients, families, visitors and other employees. Complies with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and standards regarding safety and infection control issues. Explains the procedure and orients the patient for either in‑center or out‑of‑center sleep testing. Follows material cleaning protocol, including cleaning your own masks immediately following study/procedure. Adheres to principles of Universal Precautions. Verifies that equipment functions properly, requisitions for equipment maintenance, repair or replacement, and removes defective equipment. Assists with maintenance of supplies and equipment. Ensures proper instrumentation for each procedure. Performs visual checks at the start of each scheduled shift to assure all required equipment and materials are present; signs off on your Visual Check Form. Documents concisely, precisely and accurately on all records or documents as indicated by policy. Participates in quality assessment activities as directed for the continuous improvement of patient care. Stages sleep for your studies. Applies electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards. Performs routine Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) interface fitting and desensitization. Responds to sleep patients’ procedural‑related inquiries by providing appropriate information. Follows procedural protocols (e.g., Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT), Maintenance of Wakefulness Test (MWT), parasomnia studies, PAP and oxygen titration) to ensure collection of appropriate data. Performs appropriate physiological calibrations to ensure proper signals and makes required adjustments. Follows “lights out” procedures to establish and document baseline values (body position, oxyhemoglobin saturation, respiratory and heart rates, etc.). Follows “lights on” procedures to verify integrity of collected data and complete the data collection process. Responsible for scanning, uploading and printing your own paperwork in a timely and organized manner. Participates in conference calls, staff meetings, functions and trainings, and continuing education. Complies with continuing education programs, including timely completion of mandatory training in Company training program(s) (e.g., SharePoint) as scheduled. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Maintains initial and annual required competencies. Abides by and supports established Center policies and procedures. Maintains regular, physical attendance on a predictable basis essential to performance of this job. Maintains confidentiality of patient and Center related business. Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT) Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) Registered Respiratory Therapist‑Sleep Disorder Specialist (RRT‑SDS) High school diploma or equivalent.
