Job Summary Facilities Janitorial Manager is responsible for the supervision, inspection, and control of all custodial and related services associated within assigned contract. This is a working Manager position. Specific responsibilities for the Janitorial Manager will be determined by client expectations and at the discretion of the Director of Operations. Shift: Monday - Friday | 730AM 430PM (flexible working hours are required as needed) Other Forms of Compensation: none Essential Functions & Responsibilities Properly allocate work responsibilities among subordinates. Supervises and coordinates the work activities of assigned areas (includes common areas, Service hallways, Food court, etc.). Manages payroll, vacation time, overtime and. Ability to train custodians on work‑related equipment. Supervises, motivates, disciplines, and evaluates staff. Maintains financial accuracy for site budget. Knowledge of contract requirements and creation of schedules to maintain properly skilled staffing levels to satisfy those schedules. Meet and coordinate with customer management representatives on all matters relating to services performed. Resolves clients’ concerns and perform inspections for required outcomes. Janitorial Responsibilities Cleans assigned areas with the use of assigned chemicals, materials and equipment. Sanitize all surfaces. Collects and disposes of trash following approved procedures. Dusts and damp mops floors following approved procedures, vacuum carpets, rugs. Moves equipment and furniture for proper cleaning and places furniture back in correct placement. Washes walls, windows, furniture, baseboards and other items to maintain a clean, safe environment for staff and visitors. Operates various types of floor cleaning / scrubbing machines. Position requires bending, stooping, reaching up, and lifting to 40 pounds; and the ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods. Supervisory Responsibilities Meet periodically with subordinates to review status of various elements of facility services and to institute corrective measures for any deficiencies found. Monitors supply use by keeping a detailed inventory. Responsible for ordering janitorial cleaning supplies. Ensures all equipment is in proper working condition. Perform any additional duties as required, including providing hands‑on cleaning as required. Requirements Strong organizational and planning skills, responsiveness, attention to detail and excellent follow‑through. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Demonstrate excellent customer service skills. Minimum of five to ten years of recent experience in working supervision of custodial and related employees performing cleaning functions in major facilities. Must have general hands‑on knowledge of both routine nightly and daytime facility cleaning and related services. Working hours shall include evenings and weekends as necessary as well as on‑call for emergency situations. Facilities management or equivalent experience preferred. Computer knowledge including use of Microsoft Office Suite.
