Occupational Therapist / Certified Hand Therapist (OT/CHT)
Location: Lincoln, NE (68510)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Setting: Outpatient Orthopedic Clinic
We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to join our outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation team. The ideal candidate will have experience treating upper extremity orthopedic conditions and a passion for helping patients regain function, mobility, and independence.
This role involves working closely with orthopedic physicians, surgeons, physical therapists, and rehabilitation professionals to provide comprehensive treatment for patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, sports-related conditions, and chronic musculoskeletal disorders.
Key Responsibilities:Perform comprehensive evaluations of patients with hand, wrist, elbow, and upper extremity conditions
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and functional goals
Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and functional training
Fabricate, fit, and modify custom orthoses and splints as needed
Manage post-operative rehabilitation programs following orthopedic and hand surgeries
Educate patients and caregivers regarding treatment plans, injury prevention, ergonomics, and home exercise programs
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within the EMR system
Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, clinical, and organizational standards
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
Current and active Occupational Therapist license
Minimum of 1 year of outpatient orthopedic experience
Strong clinical knowledge of orthopedic and upper extremity rehabilitation
Excellent communication, organizational, and patient-care skills
Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential
Experience in hand therapy, splint fabrication, sports injury rehabilitation, and post-surgical orthopedic care
