Must-Have:

• Epic charting experience
• Procedural (pre/post) experience
• Critical Care or PACU background
• Comfortable placing IVs
• Comfortable with EKG interpretation and management of dysrhythmias

Description: This position is Monday to Friday, with no weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts. Registered Nurses provide direct patient care for inpatients and outpatients. Nurses are responsible for prepping patients for procedures and delivering ongoing education to patients and their families. Responsibilities include asking intake questions, attaching patients to monitors, and placing IVs. Nurses also recover patients and ensure they are discharged home or transferred back to the floor. Procedures completed include bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, chest tube placement, tunneled pleural catheters, and various lung biopsies. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4. Average daily census is 10 patients with 5 visits per day. Floating within service lines is expected, as well as floating to other procedural spaces providing similar pre and post-procedure services. Candidates must demonstrate skills in ambulatory/outpatient care, inpatient care, and pre/post-operative procedures. Nurses will administer moderate sedation and monitor patients during recovery. Candidates should possess knowledge in pain assessment and management, isolation precautions, and medication reconciliation. This role also requires the obtaining of 12 lead EKGs and managing conscious sedation. Successful candidates will be required to pass an EKG examination. Please note that additional qualifications may be necessary based on specific facility requirements.
