Job Summary The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient‑centered care in accordance with the department’s scope and the relevant state and specialty standards. The RN collaborates with medical providers and the care team, using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage," to advocate for patients/families/caregivers and to support exceptional patient experience and clinical outcomes. Responsibilities Assess patient pain regularly and promote effective pain management, including reassessment after interventions. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers. Document administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner. Respond promptly to patient requests and proactively anticipate and resolve patient needs. Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, status, treatment plans, medications, possible side effects, and follow‑up measures. Translate complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding. Advise on non‑medicinal follow‑up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes; prepare patients and families for future self‑management. Qualifications Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date. Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course must be obtained within 18 months of employment start date. NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date. Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 18 months of employment start date. Registered Nurse (RN) license. Associate Degree in Nursing.
