Description Job Purpose The Claims Analyst, under the direction of the Inbound Domestic Transportation Manager and in partnership with Logistics and Quality teams, is responsible for overseeing, auditing, and processing transportation carrier claims for MPA Parts Distribution Centers (PDCs). This role ensures the accuracy of claim administration, maintains comprehensive documentation, and updates all required records in accordance with established procedures. Operating with minimal supervision, the Claims Analyst exercises sound judgment and independent decision-making to investigate, resolve, and recover carrier liability claims, with a strong focus on maximizing claim reimbursement and minimizing financial exposure. The role also provides proactive analysis of damage and shortage claim trends, identifying root causes and opportunities for process improvement. Additionally, the Claims Analyst develops and delivers weekly and monthly performance reports and executive-level presentations, leveraging advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills to communicate key insights and recommendations. Key Accountabilities Facilitate the timely filing and processing of transportation carrier claims, ensuring all required supporting documentation, including photographs, damage descriptions, inspection reports, and related evidence, is complete and accurate. Participate in recurring carrier review meetings to discuss damage claims, evaluate claim determinations, and drive timely resolution of outstanding issues. Collaborate with carriers, Transportation, Quality, and Parts Distribution Center (PDC) teams to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and achieve favorable claim settlement outcomes. Review joint inspection reports to validate carrier acknowledgment of liability and proactively challenge disputed or partially accepted claims to maximize recovery opportunities. Monitor and follow up on claim payment status, escalating unresolved issues as appropriate to ensure timely reimbursement and effective claims resolution. Develop and maintain comprehensive weekly and monthly claims performance reports, including carrier claim status, KPI tracking, claim trend analysis, and identification of high-risk part categories. Provide actionable recommendations and improvement initiatives based on data-driven insights. Prepare carrier performance scorecards and executive-level reporting materials to support operational reviews, Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), and management decision-making. Demonstrated ability to investigate, analyze, and resolve complex claims issues while exercising sound judgment and independent decision-making. Proven experience collaborating with carriers, distribution center operations, quality teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive corrective actions and operational improvements. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends, assess root causes, and develop actionable recommendations. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to influence stakeholders and present findings to management and executive leadership. Strong negotiation and relationship management skills with the ability to challenge and resolve disputed claims professionally and effectively. Education Requirements High School Diploma Required Bachelor's Degree (SCM, Business administration or related field) Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs) Advanced Proficiency with MS Excel, including data analysis, pivot tables, reporting, and KPI Tracking. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, with the ability to create and deliver professional presentations and executive-level reports. Experience utilizing transportation, logistics, claims management, ERP, or related business systems. Strong data reporting and visualization capabilities with the ability to translate complex information into meaningful business insights. Analytical thinker with the ability to compile and analyze data. Resourceful problem solver with the ability to use tools and resources to answer questions. Keen attention to detail and ability to identify problems in data intuitively. Strong organizational and time management skills; able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-changing environment.
