Activities Aide

Position Summary The Activities Aide supports the delivery of a structured, person-centered activities program designed to enhance the emotional, social, and cognitive well-being of residents. This role assists with planning, preparing, and facilitating recreational activities that align with each resident's individualized care plan while encouraging engagement, independence, and meaningful daily experiences. Working closely with the activities team and care staff, the Activities Aide helps foster a supportive, positive environment for residents with varying physical and cognitive abilities. This position plays an important role in contributing to overall quality of life within the facility through compassionate interaction, teamwork, and consistent support of resident-centered care. Key Responsibilities Assist in preparing, organizing, and leading group and individual activities based on resident interests, abilities, and care plans. Encourage resident participation and provide appropriate support, redirection, or assistance to promote meaningful engagement. Document resident involvement, behavioral responses, and attendance accurately in accordance with facility guidelines. Set up and clean activity areas before and after events, ensuring spaces remain safe, organized, and accessible. Communicate respectfully and effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated care.
