PCU/IMU Float Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated PCU/IMU Float Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. This position requires a flexible individual who is comfortable floating between multiple locations within the region, primarily on the PCU float unit, with potential assignment to a new cardiology/neuro unit.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.
Float to various units as needed, including general medicine, surgical, neuro, oncology, cardiac, and orthopedic.
Perform nursing duties including IV starts, telemetry monitoring, phlebotomy, and A-line insertion.
Adhere to the documentation protocols using EPIC and Pyxis systems.

Schedule

4-week scheduling provided two weeks in advance.
No blocked or self-scheduling is permitted.
Receive shift assignments via a phone call 2 hours prior to the start of the shift.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in PCU.
Experience with IV starts, telemetry, phlebotomy, and A-line insertion is required.
Active certifications in ACLS and NIH.
Ability to float to all PCU units and transition to Medical-Surgical units based on patient census.
Willingness to work across four locations during the contract period.
No RTO (Request Time Off) requirements are accepted for this position.

Unit Information

Patient ratio: PCU 1:3; Telemetry 1:4; Medical-Surgical 1:5.
Available units include general medicine, surgical, neuro, oncology, cardiac, and orthopedic.

Additional Information

Candidates selected for this position may be assigned to a new cardiology/neuro unit if it becomes operational during their contract period. The floating requirement includes potential assignments to emergency department inpatient overflow (EDIP).
