Case Management Nurse Practitioner

Position Summary Case Manager - Nurse Practitioner. Performs and provides various occupational health services such as drug and alcohol collections, pulmonary function testing, respirator fit testing, audiometric exams, blood draws, vaccinations, physical assessments, MEQ reviews, urgent care assessment and treatment, X‑Rays, and other services as necessary for clients. Qualifications Required Master’s degree in Nursing Practice, or a Doctorate degree in Nursing Practice Valid state medical licensure (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse / Nurse Practitioner) Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office Suite Qualifications Desired FMCSA Certified Medical Examiner registered to perform DOT Physicals One to three years experience and certified in drug screen testing, breath alcohol testing, pulmonary function testing, fit testing, audiometric applications, administering vaccinations and physical assessments, urgent care assessment and treatment, and X‑Rays Valid state certification/licensure to perform X‑Rays for medical purposes Bilingual Essential Functions and Responsibilities Perform drug screen collections following DOT specimen collection guidelines Perform occupational injury assessment and treatment Perform X‑Rays for medical purposes Perform breath alcohol testing using Intoximeter evidential breath testers such as the Alco‑Sensor IV and RBT IV, following DOT alcohol testing guidelines Perform hair collections following Psychemedics guidelines Perform pulmonary function testing using the Spiro USB system or other systems/instruments following all OSHA guidelines Perform audiometric testing following OSHA guidelines Review respirator medical evaluation questionnaires (MEQ) according to OSHA standards for clearance Perform respiratory fit testing using the TSI Portacount following all OSHA guidelines for quantitative fit testing Perform blood draws via venipuncture and finger stick methods Perform physical assessments in accordance with DOT/FMCSA guidelines, OSHA, industry and employer guidelines Perform vaccinations Review all service center MEQ’s, results of testing services and appropriate documentation Maintain client records in a confidential manner Ensure all occupational health paperwork is entered into DISAWorks® (a proprietary database) Be accessible by phone and email during and after normal working hours to other service center personnel Nonessential Skills and Experience Perform other related duties as assigned Success Factors / Job Competencies Achievement Focus – sets and achieves challenging goals, demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles, recognizes and acts on opportunities, measures self against standards of excellence, and takes calculated risks to accomplish goals Business Ethics – upholds organizational values, inspires the trust of others, works with integrity and works ethically, treats people with respect, and keeps commitments Continuous Learning – assesses own strengths and weaknesses, seeks feedback to improve performance, pursues training and development opportunities, strives to continuously build knowledge and skills, and shares expertise with others Customer Service – displays courtesy and sensitivity, manages difficult or emotional customer situations, meets commitments, responds promptly to customer needs, and solicits customer feedback to improve service Job Knowledge – is competent in required job skills and knowledge, exhibits the ability to learn and apply new skills, keeps abreast of current developments, requires minimal supervision, displays an understanding of how the job relates to others, and uses resources effectively Quality – demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, displays a commitment to excellence, looks for ways to improve and promote quality, applies feedback to improve performance, and monitors own work to ensure quality Teamwork – balances team and individual responsibilities, exhibits objectivity and openness to others’ views, gives and welcomes feedback, contributes to building a positive team spirit, and puts the success of the team above one’s own Physical Demands and Work Environment Physical demands: while performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, walk, sit, stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and occasionally lift up to twenty‑five pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work environment: the noise level is moderate. Performance Standards Annual performance appraisal for professional exempt level; attainment of annual goals established between supervisor and incumbent.
