- Part-time Overnight Emergency Veterinarian providing triage, stabilization, and ongoing emergency care.
- Perform comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups; interpret diagnostics; develop treatment plans.
- Execute emergency procedures and surgery as appropriate to training and case needs.
- Maintain accurate, timely medical records and follow controlled substance protocols.
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners and referring veterinarians.
- Collaborate closely with specialty services; participate in daily rounds and case reviews.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of clinical protocols and support staff training.
- Uphold teamwork, efficiency, and high standards of patient care during overnight operations. Requirements
- DVM or VMD from an accredited institution
- Current license (or eligibility) to practice veterinary medicine in Connecticut
- DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
- 1+ years of experience in emergency practice
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills; comfort with anesthesia and emergency procedures
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and client-service skills
- Ability to work overnight shifts, including some weekends and holidays
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds and thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment
