Role Overview:
As a dedicated Phlebotomist, you will serve as a vital link between patients and healthcare providers by expertly drawing blood samples for laboratory testing. This position offers the opportunity to work in various clinical environments, including patient service centers and physician offices, with flexible scheduling to accommodate staffing needs. Responsibilities:

Perform blood draws and specimen collection with accuracy and care across diverse patient populations, including pediatric and geriatric patients.

Prepare and label specimens following established laboratory procedures, ensuring specimen integrity.

Verify patient demographics and obtain signatures to confirm proper identification and labeling.

Maintain meticulous records of collection procedures, patient interactions, and documentation required for compliance and quality assurance.

Maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment that adheres to all safety and health policies.

Demonstrate leadership behaviors by ensuring process excellence, safety, confidentiality, and top-tier patient service at all times.

Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients, explaining procedures to foster trust and comfort.

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational goals and address staffing needs, including coverage for weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.

Travel to various locations, including Patient Service Centers and physician offices, with minimal notice to ensure patient access and service continuity.

Required Skills:

Minimum of three years of hands-on phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Strong proficiency in venipuncture, skin puncture, and specimen handling.

Exceptional customer service and communication skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency.

Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple priorities in high-volume environments.

Keyboard and data entry skills for maintaining accurate records.

Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record are required if travel is involved.

Must be flexible to work varying hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime, as dictated by staffing and patient needs.

Ability to make sound decisions based on established procedures with good judgment.

Nice to Have Skills:

Certification in phlebotomy (preferred but not mandatory).

Medical Assistant or Paramedic training/background.

Experience working in a Patient Service Center environment.

Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory processing workflows.

Preferred Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Medical training such as Medical Assistant or Paramedic coursework is advantageous.

At least three years of professional phlebotomy experience, particularly with pediatric and geriatric patients.

Other Requirements:

Must be physically capable of performing blood draws, including standing for extended periods, and handling specimen collection supplies.

Willingness to travel between multiple clinical locations with short notice.

Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety, confidentiality, and patient-centered care.
